Swarm Removal - Goleta

This was our 1st large primary swarm of the season located in the Winchester Commons neighborhood in Goleta. It was hanging off a tree limb approx. 30 feet off the ground.  It took a tall extension ladder, placed in the bed of my truck, and extension pole to cut the limb, while I held the bucket for the swarm ball (approx. 3 ft. long) - - Sorry no picture, it was after dark, and a bit complicated, so no time for a photo shoot. This very large swarm was put into an 8 frame deep + super to hold all the bees.  A little lemongrass oil and sugar water to entice them to stay in their new home.
